Wet felted picture or scarf 13th January 2017 at Gorseinon Institute 10 - 3.30
We will be using wet felting techniques to create one of two options on the day. A picture or a scarf, you will also be able to make a prefelt which can be sewn onto or cut up later for a project
First we will explore prefelt and talk about the layering of fibres in comparison to creating a felted picture. Using up to 100g of fibre we will create a piece of felt up to about 40cm by 30cm. Prefelts will be slightly larger.
You will be guided through the process of felting and have time to add details prior to wet felting the piece. For those prefelting you will have enough fibre to make 2 A4 size pieces or one larger one during the day. £30 for the day all materials included.
Needle felted hare or bear 20th January 2017 at Gorseinon Institute 10 - 3.30
We will use natural coloured wool to needle felt a hare or a bear. We will explore different types of needles as we felt the various parts of the animal. A selection of models and images will be available on the day but if you have an image you would like to have a try at creating then please bring them with you. This is not made using armature wire so some positions are not going to be possible. £30 for the day all materials included.
Needle felted picture 10th February 2017 at Gorseinon Institute 10 - 3.30
We will use needle felting skills to explore fibres and needles to create our own needle felted pictures. There is nothing better than painting with wool as you are able to easily move wool colours and try different blends and shades. If you have an image or 2 you would like to bring with you please do but we will also have a selection here to explore.
You will be able to make more than 1 image if you choose. You could also bring a selection of ribbons or beads to add embellishments to your work which we will look at adding in the afternoon by hand sewing them into place.
